College Scholarship Listing

The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne is pleased to be a resource for scholarship funds. We have worked with many generous donors to make funding available to students to pursue their education. If you need our assistance, please feel free to contact us at

All of the scholarships listed (with a few exceptions noted below) require the applicant to be a resident of Allen County, Indiana.

The scholarship amounts awarded last year are to be used only as a guide and do not reflect the number of scholarships or the exact amounts that will be awarded in 2008.

The scholarship application deadlines vary from one institution to another.

Aboite River Woman's Club Scholarship
One $800 scholarship awarded in 2007
Limitations: Female returning adult student at Ivy Tech Community College. Students must be 24 years or older and be returning to school after an extended period of time. Financial need is considered in selection. Full- or part-time students are eligible.

For returning adults planning to attend an accredited college or university or an accredited vocational or technical school to develop and enhance knowledge and skills in the areas of vocational and technical training.

Bonar Family Scholarship
One $1,000 scholarship awarded in 2007
Limitations: Returning adult students. Students must be 24 years or older and be returning to school after an extended period of time.
For Allen County high school graduates attending a two- or four-year college or vocational school; priority is given to women, minorities, and returning adults. Financial need is considered in the selection process.

Limitations: Fort Wayne Community School seniors
For high school seniors who plan to attend a public, degree-granting, Indiana college. An SAT score of 1000 or higher is required, along with a demonstrated ability to make the best use of their time and talent in class, extracurricular activities, and work experience.

Two $6,000 scholarships awarded to high school seniors and one $3,000 scholarships awarded to a graduate student, and three $10,000 scholarships awarded to current medical students in 2007

For graduating seniors who plan to pursue a career in a medical field and graduates currently pursuing medical degrees.

Limitations: Students attending an accredited two- or four-year educational institution in Indiana.

Fort Wayne Country Club Caddie Scholarship
Four $1,500 scholarships, ten $1,000 scholarships, and one $750 scholarship awarded in 2007
Limitations: Fort Wayne County Club caddies attending Indiana colleges who were finalists for the Evan's Scholarship.

Fort Wayne Enterprise Zone Scholarship
One $4,000 scholarship payable in four yearly installments awarded in 2007
Limitations: Residents of Fort Wayne Urban Enterprise Delivery Zone
For residents meeting a minimum residency requirement of the past two years. Student must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and enroll full time at a two- or four-year institution.
