The Community Scholarship Program is a collection of gifts which have been combined to result in a significant award each year to students who are in the top half of their high school graduating class, have shown initiative in their educational endeavors, and have overcome a significant challenge in their life. These students have demonstrated their ability and desire to pursue a degree from an accredited institution of higher education in the state of Indiana. The scholarship awards are renewable and students are tracked from enrollment in the college or university of their choice through graduation. Students who are eligible for this scholarship have already been vetted through the Lilly Endowment Scholarship Program.

In addition to gifts from existing scholarships, funds have been received from individuals, companies, and the Lilly Endowment.
